Bathroom furniture finishes: lacquer, wood or texture?
Matt lacquers, wood finishes and textured surfaces: how to choose the right finish for your bathroom and how to care for it.
Updated October 16, 2026

Matt lacquer: elegant and bright
Matt lacquer looks clean and contemporary and reflects little light, for a soft effect. Light tones make small bathrooms feel larger; colours such as sage, blue or terracotta add character.
Wood: natural warmth
Oak and wood finishes bring warmth and pair easily with stone- or concrete-look porcelain tiles. Choose the grain with the floor in mind: similar tones create continuity, contrasting tones make the furniture stand out.
Everyday care
For every finish a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent is enough. Avoid abrasive products, solvents and rough sponges, and wipe away standing water along the edges.
