Washing machine cabinet sizes: how much space do you need?

Width, depth and height to build in a washer and dryer, plus room for hoses, vibration and the door. The measurements to take first.

Washing machine cabinet sizes: how much space do you need?

1. The washing machine’s size

A standard front-loading washer is about 60 cm wide, 60 cm deep and 85 cm high. These are guide values: many high-capacity models are deeper, and hoses and connections at the back add a few centimetres.

So always measure your own appliance, not the catalogue figure: depth runs from the front (door included) to the connections at the back.

  • Appliance width
  • Depth including door and connections
  • Height including adjustable feet

2. How big the cabinet must be

The bay must be larger than the appliance: it needs a few centimetres at the sides and on top for vibration during the spin and for airflow, and room at the back for hoses and cables. That is why our housing units are about 70 cm wide, designed for standard machines about 60 cm wide.

In front, leave room to open the door fully and load the laundry. The exact inner dimensions of every bay are in the composition’s technical sheet.

3. Stacking washer and dryer

With little width, a tall unit around 70 cm wide takes the washer with the dryer above. What matters is the combined height of both appliances plus the stacking kit; check the ceiling height and any shelves too.

4. With a sink alongside

Sink and appliance bay under one top fit in a compact 100–120 cm composition. If your wall is shorter or longer we adapt width, height and depth, because every piece is made in Italy only after your order.

Send us your washer and wall measurements with your quote request: we check free of charge which composition takes it and send you the 3D project before you order.
